Ellen Christie, MN-NP, CHE, PhD(c)

Ellen is a nurse practitioner and a 3rd year PhD student at Queen’s University. She currently serves as Provincial Nurse Practitioner Director for the provincial health authority on Prince Edward Island. In this position, Ellen provides strategic leadership in nurse practitioner practice, policy development, research, and health system integration and optimization. Ellen maintains clinical practice in primary care and brings extensive experience across acute care, long-term care, education, and health system leadership. Nationally, she is President of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Canada and contributes to federal and pan-Canadian health workforce initiatives. Ellen's research focuses on nurse practitioner practice optimization, health workforce job satisfaction, and workplace well-being. Ellen is thrilled to participate as a Fellow in the TUTOR-PHC 2026 cohort.
